FC Halifax Town boss Jamie Fullarton was pleased with his teamโ€™s performance, which resulted in Town hitting the 50-point mark for the season.

Speaking to Shaymen TV, Fullarton said that he was happy with the way the players executed the game plan which led to Town beating Boreham Wood 2-1.

โ€œWe worked on the game plan and whoever we play the principles very really vary, we have a little tweak to exploit hopefully their weaknesses and I think today with that change in formation and the application of the players, created chances and enabled us with the personnel that we had with 4 games in 7 days coming up to go on and win the game.โ€

โ€œI stressed it last week, regarding we play at home, how the players have responded to the fans. Itโ€™s about engaging the fans with their intention to do whatโ€™s asked of them and put up a performance that culminated in the result today against a team that are sitting 3rd in the league for a reason.โ€

Fullarton praised all his players for their part in the win when asked about Townโ€™s captain, Matty Brownโ€™s excellent performance, which saw him open the scoring with a first half header.

โ€œSince Iโ€™ve been in this building, Mattyโ€™s personified what weโ€™re asking of each individualโ€

โ€œI donโ€™t think itโ€™s just Matty, I donโ€™t like singling out any player because I think each to a man today showed that they have had a response to what weโ€™re asking, an intent in the old application and attitude which is culminated in a performance which has been gritty at times today.โ€

The Shaymen held strong after a second half onslaught from Boreham Wood, and went on to win the 3 points, which puts them 9 points above the relegation zone.

โ€œThey did throw everything, the old proverbial kitchen, they are a physical, strong and mobile team that we resisted very well, that enabled us to quickly break and create those chances to go on and win the game.โ€

FC Halifax Town now face a busy period with a series of games in quick succession.

โ€œItโ€™s a busy two weeks as we go on to the end of season, we focus on the next game, we have five games remaining, and we are going to look to win five games.โ€
