FC Halifax Town welcome Barrow AFC to the MBI Shay Stadium on Saturday as the Shaymen will look to build on last week’s thrilling game against Eastleigh.

After a 3-3 draw last Saturday, Billy Heath’s men are raring to go ahead of the return to Halifax of Ady Pennock’s Barrow.

The teams have gone head to head 4 times before. With the side from Yorkshire with the better record. Halifax will look to continue this record with another win against The Bluebirds on Saturday.

In the second game of the season after both teams had lost their opening game the sides meet in their most recent meetings. The game at Holker Street was a dull affair, with Connor Oliver having the best chance which saw him strike the bar. Halifax managed to hold out and battled for a goalless draw where they earned their first point of the season.

Barrow smashed Halifax in the previous meeting in the season which Halifax was relegated in. The Shaymen ended up finishing just inside the relegation spots that season after struggling throughout the year. The Barrow game contributed to the relegation as the side from Cumbria beat Halifax 4-1 with a certain Ben Tomlinson scoring in the 94th minute.

The game earlier in the season that Halifax were relegated in however ended in a 3-1 win to The Shaymen. 3 goals past the 80th minute for Halifax saw them pull off a shock comeback on the day. Halifax also beat Saturdays visitors in the FA Trophy that season as they scraped a 1-0 win as they proceeded to the next round.

Halifax will look to build on their record against Barrow this Saturday at 3pm. Come down to the MBI Shay Stadium to watch it.
