Aldershot Town will be the visitors to the MBi Shay Stadium on Saturday as FC Halifax Town are back in the Vanarama National League after regaining our place following a 2-1 win over Chorley in the Promotion Final back in May.

Just under 8000 fans witnessed Scott Garner’s extra time goal which returned the Shaymen back to the National after just one season following relegation in the 2015/16 season.

Billy Heath will be managing his side in the top tier of non-league football for the first time after opting to join Town last summer after promotion with North Ferriby United to the National in the previous season.

FC Halifax Town Promotion Final CelebrationPreseason has generally gone well for Heath with four wins, one draw and two defeats against Alfreton Town and Bradford City.

Aldershot come into the game after completing their pre-season preparations with a 1-1 draw against AFC Wimbledon

Last Time We Met:

The Shaymen lost 2-0 at home to the Shots in April 2016 prior to relegation to the Vanarama North.
