FC Halifax Town’s Cameron King admitted he’ll be watching his goal back after he scored a rare header.

King grabbed the only goal of the game as he headed home Jeff King’s cross at the back post.

“I just popped up at the back post which doesn’t happen often and it’s been a while since I scored a goal so I’m delighted with that, I can’t remember the last time I scored a header so it’ll be interesting to see it back,” said the attacking midfielder.

Both sides had a number of good chances but it was quite a scrappy affair at times but thanks to Kings goal The Shaymen came away with all three points.

“We’re delighted, it’s a massive win for us today. It wasn’t the prettiest of games today for the neutrals but to come here it’s not an easy place to play at all so to come away with three points is massive for us,” King stated.

A crowd of 1263 were at Victory Park with a large number of them being travelling Halifax fans who were in fine voice from start to finish. King mentioned how important the fans are.

“It was massive, it’s probably the best I’ve seen, they were brilliant today so credit to them.”

Halifax now turn their attention to Dover on Tuesday night. King, who scored both goals in the 2-0 away win against Dover earlier in the season, spoke about the test they’ll bring.

“It’s another tough one, we beat them at their place so they’re definitely going to want to come back with some revenge, so hopefully another three points but we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing,” said King
