FC Halifax Town beat Dover Athletic in a thrilling 4-2 victory at The Shay. Danny Williams praised his teammates for a โ€˜hardy performanceโ€™.

Town stayed resolute throughout the game and Dover showed why they had the best away record in the league. Williams said: โ€œIt was a tough game they threw everything at us. Long throw ins were being put in, but the gaffer said if we dominate both boxes, we will come out with something and we did with a win.โ€

Danny was full of praise for the strikers after they blitzed the Dover defence; โ€œThe attackers for us were outstanding and the back 5 were as well. When we brought Jamie (Allen) on we had real pace up front and we were a real threat.โ€

The left wing back talked about his new position: โ€œItโ€™s tough playing out of position but Iโ€™m thriving. I have had to work more on my defensive side, but Iโ€™ve played it before at Inverness so its not unfamiliar but Iโ€™m enjoying it. Jeffโ€™s (King) doing great on the other side as well so things are going great and we are very organising.โ€

He talked about the morale in dressing room after the victory: โ€œItโ€™s a great dressing room and everyoneโ€™s working hard in training. Everybody is throwing their bodies on the line. The morale is good, and we have to just take each game at a time.โ€

He then looked forward to the home fixture on Saturday against Bromley: โ€œThey are a good run themselves so it will be tough test. They are good away from and we certainly owe them one after last time, so we need to put in a big performance similar tonight to come out on the winning side.โ€
