Following FC Halifax Town’s dominant 4-2 win over Dover Athletic, manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game, the nature of the goals, looking ahead to Bromley, and Jordan Sinnott.

“Really pleased, we had to dig deep at times,” Wild said. “They put us under a lot of aerial pressure at times, we knew they would, and we managed to withstand that. It was a dogged performance, not really one for the neutral. We have just got to keep picking up results and we fully deserved our three points tonight.”

Dover equalised twice quickly after Town took the lead. However, the Shaymen were able to get a third and a fourth to see the game out.

“They are a decent side, they will be up there,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “They will be in the mix come the end. So, it is really pleasing to go and do the double over them because they are a side that can cause problems. It was always going to be tight; it was always going to be nip and tuck. One thing we have got is pace, we have it in abundance at the moment.”

Town host Bromley on Saturday and are hoping for a better performance than the away fixture. Wild is confident the team will be able to perform much better and take the three points.

“Carbon copy of what you have today,” Wild said. “We know what Bromley will bring and we’ve got to go toe-to-toe with them. We need to put some wrongs right as well from what we did down there. It was 0-0 at half time and then we got done off four set pieces. We know where the problem was down there, and we’ll be looking to put that right.”

Following the passing of Jordan Sinnott on Saturday there have been plenty of tributes including the Sinnott 25 shirt donations which both Town and Dover contributed to today.

“It was a great tribute to Jordan today from the club,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “My sincere condolences go out to the Sinnott family. To lose such a young lad in the prime of his life is gut-wrenching. I’ve got a young family and I couldn’t possibly think about what they are going through at the moment. My condolences go to them and I know all the players and the staff here are devastated and our thoughts are with you.”
