Pete Wild vented his frustration after FC Halifax Town were held to a 1-1 draw against Eastleigh in the Vanarama National League at The Shay this afternoon.

Town took the lead within the first minute from a corner, as Tobi Sho-Silva nodded home at the near post.

Eastleigh got the equaliser in the 55th minute, also from a corner, thanks to Reda Johnson.

Following the game, Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to talk about his thoughts on the early goal, conceding from a corner, and a late penalty shout.

On the game:

โ€œIt was a really open game. I thought both teams did a lot to try and win the game. There were lots of chances in the game. A draw was probably a fair result at the end of the day.โ€

On scoring in the first minute:

โ€œIt was a great start for us. I was delighted with the start. It was from a set-piece as well which has not been a strong point for us this season. After that, we had really good chances to go two or three up, unfortunately we didnโ€™t take them and if we had, hopefully it would have been a different game.โ€

On conceding from a corner:

โ€œIโ€™m left ruing another set-piece. They have been our Achilles heel this season and it has smashed us in the face. In our first 14 games we conceded one, but our last 14 weโ€™ve conceded into double figures. But they score and then we donโ€™t take our chances at the other end.โ€

On Townโ€™s penalty appeal:

โ€œIt is a pen, why is he going to go down there. He is clean through on goal, why would you go down. It is a penalty but itโ€™s the refereeโ€™s decision. But it was not great.โ€
