Nathan Clarke – he’s got shotgun! His soothing voice will put us all at ease. Sam Johnson is in, our 6ft 8ins, 17 stone goalkeeper will act as our bodyguard. Finally Josh Staunton – his nan is an incredible baker so that’ll give us all the fuel we need.
But who doesn’t get the text to come?
Niall Maher. He’d just be talking about himself. If he was chocolate he would be nibbling his own arm that boy!
Which player must not touch the car stereo?
They all can, actually. There’s really good DJ’s at the club this year – it must be the reason behind our great start!
What squad member is a future Halifax manager?
You need me to answer that? The great man, Nathan Clarke. I go to him for everything, he knows the game inside out and he is a genuine fella.
But who most certainly isn’t?
That would probably be Jacob Hanson. Lovely guy, but in two years I have probably heard him say ten words!
Out of everyone, who is the dressing room joker?
Guilty! It’s me but a special mention must go to Clarkey too – I couldn’t possibly do it without him. We both love to wind everyone up and get on as many nerves as possible.
Who steers clear of the banter?
Niall – it would just be conversation over!
Who spends the longest in front of the mirror?
Sam Johnson. We’re good mates but that man is so vain it’s untrue.
Best trainer in the squad?
Josh Staunton is a top pro. He’s the type of guy who will be doing stuff on his days off and stay late to practice.
….but who is the first off the training ground?
Well, that would probably be me and the Scouse car school. It’s not that we don’t want to hang around, but we’ve got to hit the road and beat the traffic!
Who’s got the most annoying habit?
Jeff King. Another lovely lad but he doesn’t stop asking questions – it’s every 30 seconds!
