FC Halifax Town face AFC Fylde this weekend in what should be an exciting fixture. Here we look at some the players to feature for both sides.

Matty Kosylo – winger

A recent name up first as Kosylo left the Shaymen after his contract expired this summer. He then joined the Coasters on a two-year deal. He originally signed for Town in 2016, having impressed for Nantwich in the FA Trophy. The winger proved vital in Halifax securing promotion from the National League North at the first time of asking.

Having played under Billy Heath and Jamie Fullarton, Kosylo proved his ability by remaining an important player for both managers.

James Hardy – attacking midfielder

Another recent player for both sides, Hardy signed on loan last season from Fylde. Originally on the books for Manchester City as a youngster, he signed for Fylde in 2015. Hardy went onto be named young player of the year for Fylde after the 2016/17 season.

Hardy made over 40 appearances as Fylde reached the National League play-off final. He also made six appearances for the Shaymen whilst on loan. He was signed by Walsall during the summer and has already made three appearances for the League Two side who sit 16th.

Jack Muldoon – Centre Forward

Starting his career at Brigg Town in 2008, Muldoon played for Sheffield, Glapwell, Alfreton Town, Stocksbridge Park Steels, North Ferriby United, Worksop Town, and Rochdale before joining Halifax Town on loan in 2015. The Forward made just 12 appearances for the Shaymen, scoring two goals in this time.

After moving to Lincoln City from his loan spell with Town, Muldoon then moved to A.F.C. Fylde in 2017, making 44 appearances in the 2017/18 season, scoring 10 goals. He has since signed for Harrogate Town and has scored six goals in 16 appearances whilst featuring on the right wing more often.

Steve Haslam – Defender

Steve Haslam began his career in 1998 where he most notably played for Sheffield Wednesday, where he made over 140 appearances. After his time with The Owls, he joined The Shaymen in 2004. After making only two appearances with Town, he signed with Northampton Town for a short spell. Haslam eventually moved back to the Shaymen making a further 90 appearances between 2004 and 2007.

After moving to Bury and then later Hartlepool, Haslam joined Fylde in 2012 on a free transfer. Though making only eight appearances for Fylde, Haslam retired the following season, aged 33. Since then, the former Town player has re-joined his boyhood club, Sheffield Wednesday as an academy coach.
