FC Halifax Town welcome AFC Fylde to The Shay in the Vanarama National League on Saturday 24 August; 3pm kick off.ย

The Shaymen go into the game in 4th place in the table after an encouraging start to the season under new boss Pete Wild.ย

They began the season with three consecutive wins over Ebbsfleet United, Hartlepool United and Dagenham & Redbridge respectively.ย

Town suffered their first defeat of the season against Wrexham in a narrow 1-0 loss.

Last time out, Pete Wildโ€™s side drew 1-1 with Aldershot Town. Aldershot took the lead early on but Town levelled the game through summer signing Jerome Binnom-Williams.ย

As for opponents AFC Fylde, they come into the new season as reigning FA Trophy winners after beating Leyton Orient 1-0 in the Wembley final. They will be gunning for promotion this season, after losing out in the National League Play Off Final last campaign.

Currently, Fylde are 8th in the Vanarama National League, two points behind Town.ย

Fylde have two wins, two draws and a defeat to their name so far, with the defeat coming most recently against Woking, losing out 4-1.ย

Last season, the two sides shared the points at The Shay in September 2018. However, on the final day of last season The Shaymen ran out 2-0 winners at Mill Farm courtesy of a Matty Brown goal and an own goal.ย
