Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. Today’s big Supporters Club news is that we have at last organised our AGM. It will be held at the Shay on Tuesday September10th, with Manager Pete Wild attending as our “open to question” guest.

Further details will follow in next week’s programme, but please make the proverbial note in your diaries for now. As per our constitution, the entire committee will be up for re-election. Dave Crossley has unfortunately told us he will not be standing this time round, but he will continue his hands-on assistance by helping to organise the trip to the dogs and the annual football quiz.

Your current committee consists of myself, Roger Bottomley, Phil Knott, Rachel Jakeman, Sarah Kershaw and Rob Brown. As ever, we would like to add to our numbers, so if you can spare a bit of time to help us, just contact any of the above.

Regarding diary dates, you may also wish to pencil in Saturday 21st September for our annual trip to the dogs. It looks like we will be returning to Belle Vue, Manchester for this, as the alternative location of Kinsley does not open on Saturdays.

The popular extracts from the “Halifax Town Official Club History Handbook 1892-1922/3” will continue as from the Solihull programme next week. To remind you, we have reached the year 1920, and find ourselves approaching a key moment in Halifax Town’s history as the Football League prepare to extend the number of Divisions from two to four.

Finally, a thank you to everyone who contributes towards our fundraising in any way. At the time of writing, many applications for Supporters Club membership are coming through, and it is heartening to see how many donations have been passed on with the forms. One person who regularly puts his hand in his pocket is Chris Whitehead. Chris has donated for many years and epitomises the strength of feeling that many fans have for FCHT. Once again, thanks to you all

See you soon,       Kit.
