FC Halifax Town comfortably beat AFC Fylde 4-1 to stay 4th in the Vanarama National League. Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts, discuss the goal scorers, another 4-1 win, and look forward to Barrow.

His thoughts on the game…

He said: “Really pleased. I asked the players to ruthless. Could they be ruthless with a team that wasn’t doing well. I thought we saw that in abundance. Not only out of possession, but in possession as well. With some of the goals we scored as well.”

On the goal scorers…

He said: “It’s a great stat. When you get to one you think can I get off the mark. But when you get two you get on a roll. Hopefully I’ve got some lads that are on a roll now. The game should’ve been dead and buried by half time. We could’ve been three or four up.”

Another 4-1 win…

He said: “We’ve got goals in us. We could’ve scored more today. But it’s really pleasing. We’re building on the defensive mindset that did so well last year. But we’ve also added goals to us.”

Looking ahead to Barrow…

He said: “It’s a killer this league. It is relentless. But good teams go and get points on the road. That’s a challenge for the players. Enjoy tonight but tomorrow, the focus should be on Barrow. Good teams go and pick points up on the road.”
