On Tuesday night the Shaymen travel to The Racecourse Ground where they face Wrexham in a bid to continue their unbeaten start to the season. In this article I will look at star man JJ Hooper whoโ€™s made an impressive start at his new club Wrexham.

JJ Hooper was a young prospect who graduated through the academy of Premier League side Newcastle United. He never got a shot at Newcastle though as he had loan spells at Darlington 1883 and Workington. In 2013 he joined Northampton, he only played three games and had more loan spells at Alfreton Town and Farnborough where he scored six goals in 11 games.Another move was on the cards for JJ the next season as he moved to Conference South side Havant & Waterlooville, he was a big player in the team who fell short at the play-offs, he scored 13 goals in the 2014-15 season.

His successful season earnt him a move to League One side Port Vale, where he fought hard to find a place in the team, he gradually worked his way up with spending a lot of the season coming on from the bench. After one-year at Port Vale they sent him on loan to fellow League One side Northampton Town, where he couldnโ€™t find his feet.

On his way again JJ was in 2017, as he signed for League Two side Grimsby Town. He scored seven goals in 46 appearances in his time there. He spent the second half of his two-year spell on loan at National League side Bromley. This is where he displayed his real potential, scoring 14 goals in 22 games.

This summer Hooper then signed a one-year deal at Wrexham, where he has looked there most impressive threat in pre-season and the first three games. A certain danger to look out for on Tuesday night.
