FC Halifax Town striker Liam McAlinden spoke to Shaymen TV following his goal in the 1-0 victory against Dagenham & Redbridge at the Shay stadium.

Jake: Liam, first start, first goal! How does that feel?

Liam: Yeah, obviously I’m delighted, it was priority to win the game, it’s been a great start and we’ve just got to continue with how we’re performing at the minute. On a personal note I’m delighted with the goal and the win.

Jake: How good was the team’s performance today?

Liam: Yeah it was a bit of a different performance, I’ve only come in over the last week, we’ve had to dig in and defend well in the past two games and I’m really pleased with how things are going, but we can’t really rest on it, there’s a lot of games this month, so we’ve got to continue what we’re doing and see where it takes us.

Jake: Do you think with the conditions, and a strong opponent today was the toughest opposition so far?

Liam: Well I’ve only played in the two games, but there a tough opposition, we dealt with it well and got the result.

Jake: Are you setting yourself any personal targets for this season?

Liam: No that’s not something I really do, if I keep performing well the goals will come, like I say I’m delighted with the goal and the three points.

Jake: Tough opponent in Wrexham on Tuesday, your thoughts on the game?

Liam: There all tough games at the minute, especially when you’re playing Saturday-Tuesday, everyone is a tough opponent and we’ll go to Wrexham with the same game plan as what we’ve been doing and hopefully we can get another three points on the board.
