FC Halifax Town will return to the Shay Stadium top of the league following Saturday’s 4-1 win at Ebbsfleet United.
The Shaymen face Hartlepool United who were defeated 3-1 by Sutton United at home in their opening fixture.
It will be manager Pete Wild’s first game in charge at the Shay following his appointment two weeks ago.
The former Oldham boss has been in charge of a friendly away at his former club and masterminded the win at Ebbsfleet with goals from Cameron King, Niall Maher, Jack Earing and a goal from inside his own half from defender Nathan Clarke helped the Shaymen to an impressive opening day win after Jack King was sent off early in the match at Stonebridge Road.
Meanwhile two goals for Harry Beautyman put Sutton two ahead at Victoria Park, Gime Toure pulled one back before the break but Will Randall-Hurren made sure of the points in second half stoppage time to condemn Craig Hignett’s side to an opening day defeat.
The last time the two sides met was back in April when Hartlepool won 2-1 after Devante Rodney had put Town ahead against his former side.
