FC Halifax Town will face Oldham Athletic on Tuesday night for the first time since July 2015 when the two sides met in a pre-season friendly at the Shay

Town lost 2-1 on the night Rhys Turner and Brian Wilson putting Oldham ahead before Matty Brown pulled one back just two minutes into the second half.

Brown and Josh MacDonald are the only two players left at the Club since that game

Full report from the game can be found here

It might be four years since the two sides last met but you have to go back over 45 years for the last time we went to Boundary Park for a competitive game on the 19th January 1974 losing 3-2 in a League Division Three game with Fred Kemp and Terry Shanahan on target for the Shaymen.

The sides have met twice in the FA Cup both at the Shay losing 1-0 in the 1973/74 season and 3-2 in the 1956/57 season

The first meeting between the two sides was way back in 1936 and four goals from Albert Valentine helped Town to a 4-2 victory at the Shay.
