Simon Eastwood featured in goal for FC Halifax Town throughout the 2011/12 season, making 39 appearances for the Shaymen.
For the shot stopper, it all started down the road at Huddersfield Town where he came through their academy. He turned professional in 2007, however in his three years on a full time deal with the Terriers, Eastwood made just one appearance and decided that it was time to move on.
Eastwood came here to the Shaymen in 2011 and his career finally kicked off. The gloveman impressed during his one year spell with Town and quickly earned a move to Portsmouth.
Simon would spend just one season with Pompey having made 27 starts for the Fratton Park club. He would then make a jump up to former Premier League champions, but then Championship club, Blackburn Rovers.
In his three years at Ewood Park, Eastwood only made 13 appearances, often being understudy to a number of keepers who came in and out of the club in his time there.
In an interesting move in 2016, Eastwood moved to the Kassam Stadium to play for Oxford United, a side who he had previous with in the 2010/11 season where he made no appearances.
Eastwood is now set to move into his fourth season with Oxford having clearly established himself as their number one. To date, he has 126 yellows’ appearances to his name.
