New Year’s Day brought another good game to The Shay. Lee Gregory got Town off to a good start scoring two goals in quick succession inside 13 minutes. James Brown would equalise for Gateshead a minute after the restart. As the hour mark passed at The Shay Simon Ainge extended Towns lead. But Gateshead finished the stronger of the two sides scoring twice in six minutes to make the game finish level.
