FC Halifax Town host Ebbsfleet United this coming Saturday at the MBi Shay Stadium. Ahead of the game, here’s a look at the two sides recent form in the past five games.

Last game out, FC Halifax Town earned a well fought three points on their travels down south to the Silverlake Stadium which is the home of Eastleigh FC. Eastleigh were in fantastic form winning their last five before facing the Shaymen. FC Halifax Town turned up and put on a show with a brave performance coming away with all three points. James Ferry bagged his first goal for the club on the 77th minute to secure a vital victory for the Shaymen.

In our last home game at the MBI Shay Stadium FC Halifax Town couldn’t find the net against a struggling Havant & Waterlooville at the Shay as the game ended 0-0. The Shaymen made it harder for themselves though as they went down to ten men inside the first half as James Berrett was awarded a red card.

A midweek game on the 19th of February, the Shaymen travelled to Maidstone United. It was looking like the game was going to end as a 0-0 draw again, but Scott Quigley popped up to the rescue with three minutes left on the clock to get his long-awaited goal for the Shaymen to win them all three points.

In the other games within February we were held to two 0-0 draws at the Shay against Aldershot Town and Salford City.

As for our opponents, we are hosting Ebbsfleet United who have only won one in their last five games. In their last game out, they had a tough fixture facing Salford City at home. In recent games Ebbsfleet United have struggled to score goals, and in this game, it showed with them losing the game 1-0.

As for their two games beforehand, they had to settle for two 0-0 draws, away to Barrow and at home to Hartlepool.

The one win in their last five games came away to Harrogate Town in a gripping 2-1 win. With 7 minutes on the clock, Michael Cheek sent Ebbsfleet into the lead. Harrogate equalised shortly after half time, but it didn’t stop Ebbsfleet going for the three points. 35-year-old Andy Drury bagged the winner for Ebbsfleet with three minutes left on the clock and win them all three points.

In the game before, Ebbsfleet lost at home to Solihull Moors at home 1-0 in a game where the actions in the game was talked about more than the result. With Bagasan Graham for Ebbsfleet and Luke Maxwell getting sent off as there was 22-man brawl. Six more minutes into stoppage time Dean Rance for Ebbsfleet and Danny Wright for Solihull were also shown second yellow cards, which left both teams with nine-men.

Ebbsfleet United are currently sitting in 10th place in the National League on 52 points.
