Ahead of the visit of Barnet, here’s 10 things that you may or may not know about the team from North London…

  1. They are known as The Bees.
  2. They were founded in 1888.
  3. Barnet’s home The Hive has a capacity of 6,500.
  4. Barnet moved into The Hive in 2013 following 106 years at their now-former ground Underhill.
  5. Between 2012-2014, legendary Dutch midfielder Edgar Davids was the manager of Barnet.
  6. Barnet’s biggest victory came in 1970 as they beat Burton Albion 10-0 in the Southern League Premier Division!
  7. Barnet’s record appearance maker is Les Eason, who played 648 times for the club between 1965-78.
  8. Manager Darren Currie is the nephew of former England & Leeds midfielder Tony Currie.
  9. Barnet have been crowned champions of the fifth tier (Football Conference) three times which is a record!
  10. Barnet’s Harry Taylor and Jack Taylor are brothers!
