FC Halifax Town were unlucky not to scrape a win against Barrow AFC last time out as the game ended 0-0 and look ahead to tomorrow against Salford City.

After the game, we spoke to Shaymen captain Matty Brown for Shaymen TV to get his thoughts on the game.

โ€œIt was a weird one today. In the first half, I think we were the better team. We were creating chances and we got in behind them, Quigs (Scott Quigley), Dayle (Southwell) looked sharp and unfortunately, we just couldnโ€™t convert.โ€

Jamie Fullartonโ€™s men were denied a goal when Matty Kosylo put the ball in the back of the net but was deemed to have been offside.

โ€œIโ€™ve spoken to people who have seen the goal and theyโ€™ve said itโ€™s onside which is disappointing. Things arenโ€™t going for us at the minute.โ€

Captain, Matty Brown thought the performance against Barrow was better than it has been in recent weeks though and itโ€™s only a matter of time before a goal fest comes around.

โ€œBut I think as performances are concerned, there were signs of improvements today and weโ€™re looking sharper in front of goal and itโ€™s only a matter of time before the goals start coming. The strikers weโ€™ve got at the club theyโ€™d get in most sides at this level. Teams go periods without conceding goals and they go periods without scoring and itโ€™s only a matter of time before we give a team a good hiding. โ€œ

โ€œItโ€™s disappointing but on paper, weโ€™ve come away from home and drew 0-0 with Barrow, which is a horrible place to come so weโ€™ve got to take the positives from this.โ€

Being a centre back Brown was pleased with the clean sheet today but knows how hard the team had to work for it.

โ€œIโ€™m always confident weโ€™ll get a clean sheet but in recent weeks theyโ€™ve been a bit few and far between, weโ€™ve conceded a few more goals than we wouldโ€™ve liked to. But today I donโ€™t think Sam has had a save to make.โ€

โ€œThat just shows how hard the team is working, thatโ€™s not just the defence, we defend from front to back. Weโ€™ve kept them out today, done our job as a team and on another day, we win the game.โ€

The Shaymen host Salford City next week at the MBI Shay Stadium. We look forward to seeing you there for a 3 PM kick off.
