FC Halifax Town managed to hold up against Dagenham & Redbridge down south with ten men on the pitch for most of the game in their Vanarama National League fixture. With only a few seconds left on the clock, Ben Nunn was sent off the pitch, losing the home team one man as well. One goal on each side in the second half saw the two teams taking one point from this match.

Jamie Fullartonโ€™s team started dangerous in this meeting with three corners and a free kick during the first few minutes. Matty Kosylo fired the first shot on target for Town after a pass from Jordan Preston, but the shot from 25 yards out went over the bar. Quick runs through from Kosylo stayed unrewarded, with one pass being too deep and Dayle Southwellโ€™s foul on McQueen just after receiving the ball.

It did not take the hosts long to create their first chance either, but Manny Onariaseโ€™s header went wide and Dagenhamโ€™s corners were cleared by a strong Halifax defence.

In minute 33 came the first setback for the Shaymen, when Niall Maher fell awkwardly on his arm, but he continued to play, holding his arm throughout the rest of the first half. Only one minute later, Josh Staunton was sent off for a harsh foul, bringing the guests down one man and putting the Shaymen at risk, who were the stronger team until this point. As consequence for the send-off, Joe Skarz came on as substitution for Mekhi McLeod to reform the team with ten men on the pitch.

Dagenham took advantage of their 11th man with the beginning of the second half, building up heavy pressure on their guests from Yorkshire. A cross-in from Conor Wilkinson just missed the goal and a dangerous header from Angelo Balanta flew inches over the Halifax goal. Alex McQueen was given a free kick, but the poor shot went out for a goal kick and another Dagenham effort was cleared by Sam Johnson.

An hour into the match, the hosts ultimately made one of their chances count, when Jack Munns chipped a cross-in from a Dagenham corner into the netting, bringing the home-team into the lead.

Determined not to give away all the points of this match, the Shaymen stepped up their performance. The team in the bright green kit created several dangerous chances, but Ryan Sellersโ€™ shot was punched away by Elliot Justham and Kosylo gave away another chance after a good kick into his run from Preston. Another chance came for Halifax with Sellers taking a corner in the 80th minute. The high flying shot into the box was headed into the goal by Nathan Clarke, scoring the equaliser for Town

With the time running low, tempers where rising high on the pitch, bringing the total of yellow cards shown up to five and only seconds to spare, Nunn was ultimately sent off the pitch, bringing the hosts down to ten men as well.

The teams were fighting to take three points away from this fixture, but both sides failed to score yet again. A chance for Preston was cleared by Nunn and a pass from Edwards evaded him on the run. Late substitute Tomi Adeloye saw his one and only chance to score flying over the bar as the shot was too high.
