Saturdays opponents Havant & Waterlooville go into the game on the back of an emphatic 7-0 win against Maidenhead United on Tuesday night.

Striker Alfie Pavey grabbed two of the seven in Tuesdays goal glut, heres a look at Pavey in detail

The 23-year-old striker began his playing days at Maidstone United. He once scored over 100 goals in a season whilst in the youth ranks at Maidstone!

He impressed so much during his youth career at the club from Kent, he was named as an unused substitute for Maidstone’s first team in their 1-2 defeat to (coincidentally) FC Halifax Town in the second round of The FA Trophy.

However, that happened to be his only first team appearance for Maidstone as in 2013 he was offered an academy scholarship by Millwall. He was called up for one Championship match against Leicester City in January 2014 but didn’t get on the pitch.

Pavey struggled to make a breakthrough at Millwall, making just six appearances for them in four seasons. He spent most of his time there out on loan at various clubs including Aldershot, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Dartford.

At the end of the 2016/2017 season, Pavey was released by Millwall. He then joined Welling United in June 2017. He made just two appearances for Welling before returning to Dartford in August. Once Pavey had re-joined Dartford, he began to get back to his prolific goalscoring ways. Last season, he scored an impressive 22 goals in 18 National League South games, a feat which saw him named Vanarama National League South Player of the Season.

Clearly impressed by his efforts last season, Havant made the move for Pavey this summer and have paired him up front with Havant’s current top scorer Nicked Kabamba. So far this season, Pavey has played 17 games for his new side, scoring 4 goals.
