FC Halifax Town travel to Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday, looking to build on the point they picked up at Solihull Moors on Tuesday.
The Shaymen, who now sit 13th in the table will be looking for their first league win since their game against Gateshead in late August.
In comparison, our hosts for Saturday, Havant & Waterlooville sit 22nd in the league but come into the fixture after a thrashing of Maidenhead United.
On Tuesday night The Hawks, as Havant and Waterlooville are also known as, managed to beat Maidenhead 7-0 at West Leigh Park on Tuesday night. It was only Lee Bradbury’s side third win in the National League since their promotion from the National League South and ended their 8-match winless run. Maidenhead’s goalkeeper Carl Pentney was sent off in the 36th minute, and with no substitute keeper defender Alan Massey played in goal for the away side for an hour.
While the Hawks last game was won in unusual circumstances, there’s no doubt a 7-0 win can give a side confidence.
However, before Tuesday night’s triumph, Havant & Waterlooville hadn’t scored a goal in their last 4 games.
Nick Kabamba has been Bradbury’s top scoring player so far this season. The former Portsmouth has 5 goals in the National League this season, but the number 10 hasn’t scored since the 15th of September.
There have been no meetings between this sides before with Havant & Waterlooville being a very southern team, and only being formed in 1998.
There are currently 8 points separating the two sides in the National League table before the first game in November. Our hosts currently have 14 points and Fullarton’s side sit on 22. A win for The Shaymen, and if results go their way, can see them go level on points with Barnet in 12th place, however, the London side have a game in hand. Whereas Havant and Waterlooville can escape the relegation places with a win. If results go their way 18th place is the highest they can climb to.
