Warrington Town: Player Spotlight

FC Halifax Town will be looking to put themselves into the first round of the FA cup if they can defeat Warrington Town tonight in the FA cup 4th qualifying round replay at the MBi Shay Stadium.

26-year-old winger Jack Mackreth is the player to look out for come tonight, with him being impressive out wide on Saturday in the 2-2 draw. Mackreth joined Warrington Town this season after being released from National League side Wrexham last year. He’s currently got four goals under his belt this season, keeping his place in the side after impressing so far.

Mackreth was associated with Tranmere Rovers from the age of 13 and signed his first professional contract in June 2010. However, Mackreth couldn’t break through into the Tranmere side so he decided to join Barrow, and in his first and only season there he was award Barrow’s player of the year. Mackreth left Barrow and signed for Macclesfield and spent two seasons at the club scoring 6 goals in 78 appearances. He then joined Grimsby spending two seasons there, after them he returned to Tranmere and Macclesfield and nothing seemed to work out for him. He then joined Wrexham last season, he was in and out of the team, providing 33 appearances including many substitute appearances. Following his release from Wrexham, he’s joined Warrington Town and trying to make his mark.
