On the back of a heavy defeat from runaway winners Rochdale last week, AFC Halifax have a point to prove when they face the IFA Team to beat Manchester City.

Manchester City finished 4th last season, 2 places behind AFC Halifax however playing considerably less games.

Last season the two teams met multiple times with high scoring games in both fixtures, and by high scoring I mean Man City scored a lot of goals. Rewinding the clocks 2 seasons, AFC Halifax had possibly their performance of the season against the citizens when a late header from Adam ‘Rambo’ Ramsden made the score 1-1 to end  Man City’s winning streak, and more importantly, AFC Halifax’s losing streak.

With a mixed bag of performances against The Dale, Gaffer John Barker has made it clear that all players on the field against the blues will need to be on their best game, giving 100% if they are to get a result and not get turned over.

TEAM NEWS: Matthew ‘The Rat’ Blackburn is ineligible to play due to the clause of his loan deal from Man City to Halifax. Last week MOTM Harry makes it 2 apps in a row which is remarkable for him. John Luders is in line to play however it is only Tuesday night which means come Thursday he will find an excuse to not play. Lukey Bebz is renamed in the starting 11, a hat trick from him against city would be appreciated after promises of them all season. Miles may not be alive if those present at fines on Saturday open their mouths, but for now he will be in the squad, even if only 50% fit. Oh and we only have 9 players, so anybody interested in playing then traveling to the Warrington match after the game is free to join and please get in touch by emailing afchalifax2006@yahoo.com or messaging us on Facebook/Twitter.
