FC Halifax Town suffered there 5th defeat of the season as they fell 3-0 away to Aldershot FC. The loss sees Town fall to 13th place.

James Berrett spoke to Shaymen TV and gave his thoughts on the game.

“I wouldn’t say we were great by any means. We’ve had our chances but with their first 2 attacks they’ve scored so you’re always going to be up against it. We just weren’t good enough today.

Talking about the difficult conditions they faced, Berrett doesn’t believe it was a major factor in the result.

“There was a couple of areas of the pitch that were a bit waterlogged but it’s the same for both teams, so we won’t be using that as an excuse.”

As the Shaymen now sit in 13th place, Berrett believed that they could kick on if they recapture their performances from earlier in the season

“We’ll be happy getting results like we were at the start of the season. We’ve dipped a bit at the minute. We’ve had a talk and hopefully we can spark a reaction now for tough game next Saturday, so we need to focus on that and bring back some of that positive play we had early on.”

Looking forward to next Saturday’s game against Chesterfield Berrett said:

“It should be a big game, we need a reaction more than anything. If the performance is good, it generally brings the result with it, so we’ll do our homework on them and look to kick on.”
