Following FC Halifax Town’s hard-earnt draw against Bromley in their previous fixture, Sam Johnson spoke to the club’s official website ahead of their trip to Aldershot Town.

“We’ve had a good start to the season, obviously we started very well. Unfortunately over the last few games, we’ve not picked up the points that we wanted to” stated the ‘keeper.

“I think we’ve been unlucky in a few games, especially for example against Leyton Orient with the last minute goal they scored. But hopefully we can turn this around, starting on Saturday.”

In that fixture FC Halifax Town had a 1-0 lead via a Dayle Southwell penalty, until James Alabi scored the equaliser for the O’s in stoppage time.

Johnson was quick to praise manager Jamie Fullarton in how he has prepared his side tactically this season: “Jamie [Fullarton] is very methodical in his approach towards our games. Obviously last season we didn’t have as many days as we’ve had this season to prep as much, but he has been preparing us in the same way every week. We’re confident we know our opponents inside out with what he tells us, and it’s very good.

The Shaymen will travel to Hampshire to face 19th placed, Aldershot Town and Johnson explained: “Every time we’ve played Aldershot they’ve made it a difficult game for us, normally they’re a good passing team so we’ll seek to absorb the pressure and we’ll hopefully ride out the storm and come out on top.”
