AFC Halifax head into this weekend’s clash with IFA new boys Salford full of confidence following their 12-0 demolition of Leyton Orient last time out. That was Halifax’s first win of the season, a performance that was possibly the best in the club’s history.

Striker’s Ramsden and Probets both bagged a five-goal haul, the midfield was everywhere while the keeper & defence kept a rare clean sheet.

Standards were set, the challenge now is to prove it wasn’t a one off.

Halifax lost out to Salford in a pre-season fixture, with Si Noble missing three penalties in the defeat. When asked if Noble would be stripped of the duties manager Barker replied, “I’ll definitely be having Simon stripped, but he’s also unavailable for this match so whoever gets the ball first can take them.”

In team news, Halifax are still without Tom Ashton who is nursing a serious broken nail. Back in the squad come Marcus Stapley who is no longer waiting at The Shay and John Luders who is only coming along as he doesn’t believe the team can pass a ball.

The mysterious new midfielder ‘Phil’ is also in line to retain his place.
