FC Halifax Town continue their Vanarama National League campaign by welcoming East London side Leyton Orient to the MBi Shay stadium on Saturday the 8th of September with the men from West Yorkshire looking to make more headway on an already impressive start to the season.

The West Yorkshire side will be looking to leapfrog Orient and possibly further to reclaim top spot in the National League after Tuesdayโ€™s 0-0 stalemate against Wrexham.

The Shaymen head into the tie if fairly good form overall and remain unbeaten at home, their opening games of the season see them picking up wins against the likes of Braintree Town which was a 2-0 opening day win away in Essex, followed by a 2-0 home triumph over Ian Evattโ€™s Barrow.

The good start to the campaign continued an impressive 3-0 home triumph over Maidstone United before Town were dealt their first loss of the season travelling to Greater Manchester side Salford City only to leave succumbing to a 2-1 score line.

FC Halifax Town were able to show their renowned bounce back ability on Matchday 5 as they saw Dagenham and Redbridge make their way to West Yorkshire only to be sent back to Essex empty handed as The Shaymen ran out 2-1 winners. Town were then on the receiving end of a defeat again, this time at the hands of Boreham Wood as a 96th minute Josh Umerah penalty meant Town headed back up north empty handed.

Another win followed however, thanks to a smart Jordan Preston finish FC Halifax Town were able to dispose of Gateshead via a 1-0 score line keeping their unbeaten home record intact. Back to back away draws have followed since the last win with the first being a 1-1 draw at last yearโ€™s promotion candidates Sutton United before The Shaymen travelled to Wales to take on Wrexham in a match that ended 0-0.

Town are a side who can be relied on to score goals with 13 strikes being amassed so far this season and being evenly shared throughout the team with a number of the new signings hitting the ground running most notably Dayle Southwell who is the clubs top scorer with 3 goals so far in this campaign.

Leyton Orient also come into the tie in good form as they sit 2nd in the table and unbeaten so far in this campaign. Justin Edinburghโ€™s men will come to MBi Shay looking to hold onto that unbeaten record and leapfrog Harrogate Town onto the top spot.

The fantastic form of the Oโ€™s started after a stuttering opening few weeks of the campaign which began away to Salford City which ended in a 1-1 draw, this was followed but by another draw, this time at home to Ebbsfleet United in a contest ending 1-1 again.

A third successive draw followed for the side from East London as they couldnโ€™t find the difference against Barrow in a match that finished 2-2. The Oโ€™s managed to pick up their first win of the campaign with a 2-1 away triumph over Maidstone United.

The first win of the new season was then followed by another victory this time at home against Boreham Wood as they ran out 1-0 winners. Another draw was then found this time when the club travelled to the North East to take on Gateshead in a game that ended 1-1 seeing the points shared.

A run of three successive wins then followed starting with a 3-0 victory at home to Dover Athletic before travelling to Chesterfield to leave Yorkshire with the points after a 1-0 win. The most recent game saw the Oโ€™s demolish Midlands side Solihull Moors 3-0.

Goals havenโ€™t been difficult to come by for Leyton Orient as they have been able to find the back of the net on 15 occasions this season and the FC Halifax Town defence will have to be on their best form if they want to stop top scorer Macauley Bonne adding to his 4 goal tally.
