FC Halifax Town drew 1-1 away at Gander Green Lane this afternoon, the Shaymen’s first draw of the season.

Town went into the match with 5 wins from the opening 7 games but only one win in the opening three away from home.

Jamie Fullarton named an unchanged starting XI from the Bank Holiday Monday game against Gateshead.

In a game with few chances, the closest either side came from Ben Tomlinson’s whose effort cannoned off the post in the first half.

However following a booking for deliberate handball for the Town frontman, he went off injured with what looked to be a knee injury and he was replaced by Jonathan Edwards.

It was the home side who went ahead following a Simon Lenighan foul. Kenny Davis curling his freekick past Sam Johnson.

Dayle Southwell equalised for the Shaymen with his third goal of the season on the edge of the box, his low shot was precise and beat Jamie Butler.

The Shaymen are back in action on Tuesday night with a trip to North Wales to take on Wrexham, 7.45pm kick-off.
