Boreham Wood: Form Guide

On Saturday 25th August, FC Halifax Town will make a long trip down south to Meadow Park where they face Boreham Wood FC.

Boreham Wood endured a tough pre-season after missing out on promotion last season by losing to Tranmere 2-1 in the 2018 National League Play Off Final. Boreham Wood faced and lost against top opposition in pre-season, including a 2-1 loss to Championship side Brentford and Premier league side Arsenal where they lost 8-0 to a side which featured Premier League stars such as Aubameyang, Lacazette and Mkhitaryan.

Boreham Wood continued a mixture of form throughout the rest of pre-season beating lower league opposition Hitchin Town 1-0. In the game after they took a beating to National League South side Slough Town losing the game by three goals to nil. They ended their pre-season in a stalemate to League One side AFC Wimbledon.

FC Halifax Town endured a similar pre-season to their upcoming opponents. However, the Shaymen have proved that pre-season isnโ€™t all about the results as they have gotten off to a great start this campaign.

The season started with a trip down to Essex for FC Halifax Town where they would face National League newcomers Braintree Town. FC Halifax Town came away with all three points, bagging a 2-0 win with goals from Nathan Clarke and Jonathan Edwards

FC Halifax Town made it two wins from two and six points out of six beating Barrow 2-0 in the first game at The MBI Shay stadium. Goals from Dayle Southwell and Matty Brown capped off an impressive performance and start to the campaign.

Then, FC Halifax Town went on to finish matchday three at the top of the table. The Shaymen saw off Maidstone United comfortably by beating them by three goals to nil. Cameron King got his first goal on his first start for the club and then goals from Dayle Southwell and Ben Tomlinson rounded off an extremely impressive performance.

An away game was next up for FC Halifax where they faced National league North Winners Salford City. A tough game was expected and a Matty Kosylo equaliser wasnโ€™t enough for Halifax, with Adam Rooney scoring late on for Salford to win 2-1

In their last game FC Halifax Town beat a well fought Dagenham & Redbridge side 2-1. Matty Kosylo was on the scoresheet again and Jonathan Edwards got the winner to put FC Halifax Town second in the table.

Boreham Wood started of the season with a 1-0 win at home to Dagenham & Redbridge. A goal from Balanta was good enough to secure Boreham Wood three points.

Their first away trip was to National League newcomers Havant & Waterlooville. They game ended 0-0 which meant Boreham Wood gained four points out of a possible six.

An early kick off against Wrexham was broadcasted Live on BT Sport where Boreham Wood travelled to The Racecourse. Wrexham were too strong for Boreham Wood, and the result ended in a comfortable 3-0 victory for Wrexham.

A late goal for Gateshead meant Boreham Wood would only come away with a point in their fourth game of the season at Meadow Park. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the last game, another loss and zero points for Boreham Wood as they faced a 1-0 loss to Leyton Orient. No wins since the first game of the season means Boreham Wood sit in 18th place on five points, seven points behind Halifax.
