The Shaymen travel down to Hertfordshire to face Luke Garrard’s Boreham Wood side. The Wood were the unlucky side that missed out in the playoff final last year, however, haven’t hit the heights yet this season.
After losing to Tranmere at Wembley in the final game of the National League last year. The side currently sit in 18th place having only won one game this season.
Boreham Wood picked up their only win on the first day of the season as they held off Dagenham and Redbridge to win 1-0.
Since then, they have drawn to newly promoted Havant and Waterlooville, 0-0. As well as, losing 3-0 to table toppers Wrexham, a 1-1 draw at Gateshead and most recently a 1-0 loss to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
On the other hand, Halifax Town are one of only two teams to have won 4 of the 5 opening games this season. Despite the loss to Salford City, The Shaymen have shown attacking, beautiful football which has seen The Shaymen win their other 4 games.
Only one other team has also scored as many goals as Jamie Fullarton’s side. Along with AFC Fylde, Halifax have scored 10 goals.
Wrexham v Bromley
The side flying at the top of the table are Wrexham. The Welsh side look to be early contenders for the league title.
With the signing of a certain Mike Fondop-Talom, Wrexham have added goals to their solid defence.
They finished 10th in the league last season, despite conceding the least goals. This season, they’ve only let in 1 in 5 games, and still not lost.
If Bromley get anything from this it’ll be a fantastic result for Neil Smith.
Other than their recent controversial 1-0 win against Gateshead, the London side haven’t won in the league yet.
Interestingly, both of these sides finished the 2017/18 with 70 points.
Sutton United v AFC Fylde
4th against 3rd here in a very interesting tie. Both teams are likely to be near the top of the table come the end of the season.
Danny Rowe has continued his fantastic scoring streak as he leads the top scoring charts once again this season. His side are always an attacking threat as they’re the only other team to have scored double figures so far, this season.
Whereas Sutton United also haven’t lost a game and sit only one place below their visitors on Saturday by goal difference.
A win for either team here will give them a very impressive record after 6 games in the league.
Gateshead v Leyton Orient
Gateshead currently sit 5th in the National League, with their visitors on Saturday Leyton Orient sitting 4 places below them, despite not losing a game yet.
Gateshead lost their first game in controversial style against Bromley on Saturday so will be looking to get back to winning ways.
Luke Armstrong is on fire for the Northern club having scored 4 goals this season.
Leyton Orient, on the other hand, will be looking to convert some of their draws into wins. Having drawn 3 and won 2, they still haven’t lost, but need more wins if they want to challenge right at the top of the table.
