FC Halifax Town return to league action tomorrow night at the MBi Shay Stadium following a winning start to the Vanarama National League on Saturday with a 2-0 win away at Braintree Town.

Goals from Jonathan Edwards and Nathan Clarke sealed all three points for the Shaymen which saw Town get their first ever win at Cressing Road, at the fourth time of trying.

Town boss Jamie Fullarton has spent all of the summer preparing his players for the opening games of the season and that hard work paid off in Essex with two goals from Ben Tomlinson corners.

Whilst Town sit third after the opening round of fixtures, our visitors tomorrow night sit top of the league which makes this a top of the table clash in just the second game of the season.

Two goals from Jack Hindle and one from Tyler Smith help the Cumbrians to a 3-0 win over last season’s Vanarama National League South Champions Havant & Waterlooville.

Barrow narrowly avoided relegation to the Vanarama National League North last season on the final day of the season, results went their way and ended with Woking relegated from the National.

Both sides have started the season well and tomorrow night will be a big test for the Clubs to see how far both have come since last season.

There will be a minute’s applause ahead of the game for former Halifax Town manager George Mulhall, who passed away in April.

Other league matches:
