There are still a couple of months left until the Vanarama National League returns for the new season but you donโ€™t need to worry, we will have you covered with any of the news you may have missed until then.

Aldershot Town have announced that their ground will be used as the venue for a pre-season friendly between Premier League new boys Fulham and Championship side Reading. This will be the second time that Fulham have played at the EBB Stadium. Two years ago, the West London club faced Brighton in a pre-season game and another big crowd is expected. The match will take place on Saturday 14th July at 1:30pm.

A memorial event will be held for former Hartlepool United manager, Neale Cooper, after he sadly passed away last Monday. A statement from the Cooper family read:

โ€œThe family are very touched and grateful for the overwhelming support and thoughts of the public and fans.โ€

The celebration of his life will be held at another of the Scotsmanโ€™s former clubs, Aberdeenโ€™s stadium this coming Friday.

Cooper enjoyed two spells in charge of Hartlepool United and his family have urged all friends, colleagues and supporters to attend and pay their respects.

Ebbsfleet United club secretary, Peter Danzey, is wanting to raise awareness for male breast cancer after he recently had his own encounter with the disease. Fewer than 400 men in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Peter is urging men of all ages to check themselves to help prevent this disease from becoming a silent killer among men.

Finally, Dagenham & Redbridge are close to announcing their new manager for the 2018/19 season. The position has been vacant since the 17th May but the Daggers expect to unveil their next manager by the middle of this week.

A statement was released by Dagenham & Redbridge to reassure their fans:

โ€œThe clubโ€™s board, together with the representative from the Full Members Club, Mark Odams, met last Tuesday evening to short list the applications received. From over 85 applications a short list of seven has been drawn up and the interview process has already begun.โ€
