Major news has been released by Eastleigh confirming that their owner Stewart Donald is searching for someone to purchase the football club.

Stewart had invested a substantial amount of money in to the club, making changes on and off the pitch. The Spitfires won the National League South and enjoyed a lengthy FA Cup run under his ownership. He also re-developed their home ground of Silverlake, on all four sides of the stadium.

Stewart is also reportedly linked with a takeover at Sunderland.

Meanwhile with affairs on the pitch, there is still plenty of football to be played as the National League play-offs begin to wet the appetite. Fifth placed Aldershot Town will host sixth placed Ebbsfleet United at the EBB Stadium in a bid to advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday.

The winners of this game will face second placed Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park on Saturday 5th May.

The other fixture taking place is on Thursday is between Boreham Wood, who finished the season in fourth, and AFC Fylde. Fylde finished in that position by skin of their teeth after a stalemate with Wrexham. Fylde earned their spot on goal difference with it being the only thing putting them above 8th placed Dover who share their tally of 73 points.

The winners of this game will face third placed Sutton United at Borough Sports Ground on Sunday 6th May.

AFC Fylde’s top scorer and second top scorer overall in the National League, Danny Rowe, was named as the National League’s player of the season.

In other news, at the foot of the table, following being relegated to the National League South, Torquay United have released five members of their squad and put three more players on the transfer list.
