FC Halifax Town midfielder Scott McManus admitted that he was happy with the clean sheet, and a point was a fair result.

“I thought we played well in parts, both sides came into it later and it was end to end. The clean sheet was good to get but overall a fair result.” Scott McManus said.

The 28-year old was adamant that the team are never happy with a point, and no matter what the scenario is, every game is important.

“We are never happy to leave, happy with a point. Although there was nothing to play for in terms of the league, there was personal pride.”

McManus was happy with what the club had achieved this season, and hoped that the club can achieve more, next season.

“It has been a bit up and down really, but the main aim was to not get relegated from this season which we have achieved and hopefully we can go better next season.”

McManus announced in his post-match interview that he would probably be leaving the club at the end of the season and said that he has “enjoyed” his time at the Shaymen.

The midfielder revealed that it was so emotional going over to the supporters at the end of the match and called it an “emotional” end to his career at FC Halifax Town.

He has been with the club since 2011, McManus was part of the team who won the FA Trophy against Grimsby Town in 2016.

“This was probably my last match for FC Halifax Town, after eight seasons it has been emotional.”

“I cannot thank the fans more, I ask them to continue cheering the lads on in the future.”
