We look at the form for both FC Halifax Town and Maidstone United, ahead of their game this Saturday.

Town have enjoyed a period of excellent results since Jamie Fullerton took over as boss but see themselves with two losses in their last two outings, albeit against tough opposition in relegation battler’s Torquay and Tranmere, who currently sit 2nd in the National League.

The Shaymen still sit in a comfortable 15th place, which will be an extremely successful season if they maintain their position after Saturday.

Recent wins against two of the front-runners in the league, Boreham Wood and Sutton United are stand out results, especially considering the busy schedule during that time, which saw Town play 4 games in 7 days.

FC Halifax’s impressive victories prior to the Torquay loss were spearheaded by Mike Fondop-Talom, who scored in both victories and in the draw against Gateshead. He starred in each game, with his standout goal coming against Boreham Wood, where he neatly chipped the keeper’ to secure all three points for The Shaymen.

Maidstone United sit in 18th place in the National League, just 1 point behind FC Halifax.

After a period without a win in 6 games, they bounced back to beat promotion hopefuls AFC Fylde 1-0 in an impressive victory. They followed this up in their last outing to secure their safety in the division, beating Chester 3-1.

Key to maintaining their place in The National League was Joe Pigott. The striker picked up 12 goals this campaign, which has proved vital in picking up points throughout the season. However, he left in favour of AFC Wimbledon in January, leaving them without important goals.
