FC Halifax Town host Boreham Wood at the MBi Shay Stadium tomorrow in our last game in the Vanarama National League

We have a look back at previous games between the two sides.

In their last meeting, the teams shared the points as they drew 1-1 at Meadow Park. The home team opened the scoring in the 7th minute thanks to Bruno Andrade’s smart free-kick, that went under the wall, into Johnson’s net. Town impressed, piling on the pressure throughout the game, until the 81st minute when Adam Morgan’s rebounded effort brought the Shaymen a deserved equaliser. Tom Denton was sent off late on for the Shaymen, but they held on to earn a well-deserved point away from home.

Back in 2016, the teams met in a thrilling affair, ending 3-2 with the Shaymen coming up on top thanks to a late stoppage time winner by Connor Hughes.  Town took a 2-0 lead in the first 25 minutes of the game with Jordan Burrow and James Bolton getting on the scoresheet.  Boreham came back in the second half first with Harry White and then in the 83rd minute with Jamie Lucas. Although the game looked like it would end up equal, Town fought on and snatched the game in the 93rd minute, taking all 3 points.

The other of the team’s recent meetings came as newly-promoted Boreham Wood won 3-1 away at Town.  After Boreham took the lead, the Shaymen equalized through a Jordan Burrow penalty. However, it wasn’t enough as Boreham took the lead again and sealed the game late on to earn a first National League win.
