Gateshead: Form Guide and Pre Match Stats

FC Halifax Town wrap up their Easter weekend fixtures as they welcome Gateshead to the MBi Shay Stadium on Monday afternoon, 3pm kick-off.

The Shaymen recently saw their six-game unbeaten run come to a bitter end as they fell to a 2-0 to AFC Fylde on Friday.

However, Town can still boast only one defeat in their last seven, including three impressive wins against Woking, Hartlepool and Dagenham and Redbridge, scoring at least twice in all three victories.

On the other hand, however, this is also three games without a win for Jamie Fullarton’s side, following the previous draws against Solihull Moors and Guiseley.

Halifax remain six points above the relegation zone following Friday’s afternoon’s results, with the six-game unbeaten run putting them in a good position to avoid relegation come the end of the season.

Gateshead, on the other hand, have had a very inconsistent run of form as of late.

Two wins, three draws and two defeats in their last eight games has seen The Tynesiders pick up nine points from a possible 24.

Steve Watson’s side picked up draws against Barrow and Solihull respectively, however managed to net seven goals against Maidenhead in a remarkable 7-1 win.

Their other win came against Guiseley where the squeezed past the relegation threatened side 1-0.

Similarly, to Halifax, Gateshead have also failed to win in their last three games, likewise only managing two draws and a defeat.

Here are some more pre-match stats ahead of this clash:

  1. Gateshead have scored at least one goal in 78% of their away matches this season.
  2. The Tynesiders also appear to love some late drama, scoring nearly a third of their goals this season after the 75th minute in games.
  3. Halifax have scored 42 goals in the National League this season, with 25 of these coming at the Shay.
  4. Gateshead, on the other hand, have score 51 goals in the league this campaign, however only 22 have been scored on the road.
  5. In terms of home form, in their last four games, Halifax Town have picked up seven points from a possible twelve, with two wins, one draw and a single defeat.
  6. Gateshead’s away form is slightly worse, with just four points from their last twelve. (1W, 2D, 1L.)
  7. Halifax also have a stronger clean sheet record going into this game, having not conceded a goal in 38% of all games and 32% of home games.
  8. The Tynesiders have only managed to keep a clean sheet in 34% of their National League games this season and an even poorer 28% in matches away from home.
  9. Although Gateshead may not keep many clean sheets, they do no concede many goals regardless, having only let in 40 goals in 38 games – the fifth best in the division.
  10. The Shaymen, in comparison, have conceded 51 goals in the 40 games they’ve played in the National League this season.
