FC Halifax Town host Solihull Moors this weekend, with Jamie Fullartonโ€™s side looking to extend their unbeaten run to six games in the Vanarama National League.

For both sides, three points will go a long way as we come towards the most important part of the season. A win for the Moors will see them close the gap between themselves and the final safety spot, whereas Town will be all but safe if they are the victors.

Current Form
For Town, the current form has taken a turn for the better in the last few games, as Fullartonโ€™s stewardship brings a new feeling of confidence to the side.

Between November and mid-February, the Shaymen only won twice in the league, coming back-to-back against Aldershot Town and Chester FC in December, However, Town have now taken 11 points from a possible 15 in their last five games, and look well on the way to securing their National League Status.

From a Moors perspective, their recent form has been welcoming to the relegation-threatened side. The Moors have lost just twice in their last ten fixtures, winning four in the process including a 3-2 victory over high-flying Dover Athletic.

However, Town fans will welcome the fact that Mark Yatesโ€™ side have conceded in 95% of their away fixtures, and with only one win in their last five, Town will surely be the favourites to claim the three points.

Key Man
The Moors do have an impressive side to say they are currently sat in the National League drop zone. The course of the season so far has shown that they have goal scorers in their squad, with one man being the one to watch out for on Saturday.

With top scorer Oladipo Afolayan leaving the club for Premier League West Ham United in the January transfer window, midfielder Darren Carter has taken his place as the biggest goal threat in the Moorsโ€™ side.

Carter, who has been a regular starter in recent weeks, is currently on seven goals for the season so far, having signed for the club in June of last year. He is described as โ€œa great reader of the gameโ€ by the clubโ€™s official website and has had an interesting career in the game.

The former Birmingham City man scored the penalty that promoted the Blues to the Premier League in 2002, as well as featuring in the Forest Green Rovers side that was promoted to the football league last year. With these factors, Carter is set to be a big threat to Townโ€™s back line.

Last Meeting
You will have to cast your minds back to August last year for the previous meeting between the two sides, with Billy Heathโ€™s side claiming a 1-0 victory at Damson Park.

Heathโ€™s side managed to grow into the game throughout the first half and grabbed the only goal of the game inside half an hour following good link up play between Matty Kosylo and Adam Morgan.

Now at Sligo Rovers, Morgan made no mistake of slotting home what was to be the winner in Solihull, as Town claimed their first victory of the season to set them off on a spell that saw them win five of their following six games.

However, the game in Solihull also saw Martin Riley sustain his long-term injury following a crunching tackle in the first half. An awful moment for the defender, but luckily, he is almost fully recovered.
