FC Halifax Town defender Scott Garner believes that the team need to put two or three wins together to get away from the dreaded relegation fight, and that it can start on Saturday away to Bromley.

โ€œIt is that time of year where you are looking to put two or three wins together really, and not need to look over your shoulder. We will be looking up to get three points”, Garner told the Official Website.

โ€œBromley are doing well this year, you go into every game in this year, you need to go into it in the best way you can really, especially with it being such a close league.โ€ he added.

After showing that it can be done away to Leyton Orient and Aldershot Town, Garner thinks that it is important to be consistent with performance levels.

โ€œWe have been doing well away from home this season. Teams come after us and we react to that. We just need to be consistent with our performances showing that we can win the tough games.โ€

Although Garner was not a player around at the Shay when Shaun Tuton was last with Town, he knows what a talented player he is and thinks he will link up will with Tom Denton.

โ€œI have heard good things about Shaun, he is quick and powerful, exactly the type of player that we need up there alongside Dents (Tom Denton).โ€ He said.

The former Boston United defender reiterated that there is still a large portion of the season to go and so far, the team can be proud of their efforts.

โ€œThere is a long way of the season left to go. At the start of the season we were on good form and you must be realistic about it. We are a part time team in a full-time league, and there are a lot of strong teams in this league. Garner said.

If we can just make a turn and push on rather than getting stuck and looking behind us, it can be looked at as a good season and one that we can be proud of.โ€ he added.

He continued, โ€œOf course you want everyone fit and ready to play in every game, but it is not always possible with the small squad that we do have.โ€

โ€œWe missed Kozzy (Matty Kosylo) and his spark that he brings to the team, but now we have had that small rest, I think more or less everyone is fit and ready for selection now.โ€

The former England C defender believes that FC Halifax Town can take the game to Bromley on Saturday, and are raring to go after not playing last weekend.

โ€œWe will be looking to go and be a force, and teams respect us when we have that motive about us, I really think we can go and be a threat this weekend.โ€ he said

Garner reiterates that he does not think there will be a plan to prepare for the game on Tuesday until after the Bromley game and states that you cannot afford to rest players in any game.

โ€œWe have to go into every game as strong as possible to get three points from each game. We have a tough block of four games, but we have to just look ahead to the next one.โ€
