FC Halifax Town this weekend is welcomed to York Road to face the challenge of a Maidenhead side who currently sit in 11th place in the National League and haven’t won in their last two fixtures. Here is a review of the last time we faced Alan Devonshire’s side.

Halifax and Maidenhead have surprisingly only met once before, in the earlier clash this season which took place in September. Winger Matty Kosylo returned from suspension and terrorised the Maidenhead defence, grabbing two goals in a 3-2 win at the Shay which took Halifax to a 5-game unbeaten run at the time.

Town took a convincing 3-0 lead by the 55th minute thanks to Kosylo’s delightful double and a tidy finish from Adam Morgan just before the half hour mark and the three points looked to be wrapped up. Maidenhead made the last few minutes slightly nervy as they pulled two back through Jake Goodman and Sean Marks’ 95th minute bullet header but the Shaymen managed to hold on to grab all three points.

This result saw Halifax rise to 6th in the table and into the playoff positions thanks to a lightning start in their National League campaign, collecting 15 points from their first nine games. Halifax will be looking to get another three points on the board when they make the reverse trip to Maidenhead.
