FC Halifax Town have their longest trip of the season so far this Saturday with the long trip to face 5th place Dover Athletic.

The Shaymen will be looking to get revenge on The Whites after the team from Kent came out victorious in their trip to the MBi Shay Stadium earlier this season.

The final result was 2-1 to Dover in Halifaxโ€™s fourth game of the season. All of the goals came late on in the game with Mitch Brundle scoring the first in the 87th minute. Tom Denton must have then thought he had rescued a point for Billy Heathโ€™s side with their first goal of the season. Before Tobi Sho-Silva scored once again for the visitors to take all three points back to the Crabble Athletic ground.

That meeting was the first one for a year, since Halifax were relegated back down to the National league North the year before. Jordan Burrow bagged a goal in a 4-2 win for the team from Yorkshire in that game as FC Halifax Town ran away 4-2 winners early in November. Shaun Tuton bagged a double with Nicky Wroe also scoring securing a solid three points for The Shaymen

However, later in the season Dover got their own back after Halifax made the long journey down to Kent. Nicky Deverdicks scored in the 8th minute for The Whites and they hold on till the 90th minute to win that meeting.

In the two meetings in the 14/15 season FC Halifax Town triumphed in both. The first came very early in August with current play Scott Mcmanus scoring the only goal in that game just after the second half had kicked off.

Then in a thrilling game at the MBi Shay Stadium Halifax won again by a one goal margin, this time winning 3-2. Maynard, Peniket and Jackson were on the scoresheet for Halifax as they held off a late flurry from Dover to do the double over the team from Kent that season.

To bounce back from that loss against Macclesfield, Billy Heathโ€™s men will be hoping to get their own back on Dover and reverse the score from earlier on this season.
