This round of fixtures sees FC Halifax Town embark on an adventure down south, taking on Aldershot Town at the Recreation Ground.

They enter the match without a win in their previous 11 league outings.

As the Shaymen prepare for clash, here are 10 things to know about our hosts:

  • Aldershot FC, founded in 1926, competed in the Football League before the team were liquidated. Aldershot Town rose from the ashes of the former club in 1992 and regained Football League status in 2008 after battling their way up from the Diadora Isthmian Division 3. They would have spent 4 campaigns in League Two before dropping back into non-league football.
  • Because of the reformation of the club, Aldershotโ€™s badge now depicts a phoenix rising from the flames.
  • The Hampshire town in which the club are based is known for being the โ€˜Home of the British Armyโ€™, still used today to house military personnel and their families. As well as museums and statues, the town also holds an annual Army Show which attracts 60,000 spectators, displaying military vehicles and equipment.
  • Among those who call Aldershot home include Sherlock and former Office star, Martin Freeman, and notable darts player James Wade. The town has also produced striker Craig Maskell, who played upfront for clubs such as Southampton and Reading, as well as Bruce Rioch, who won the Football League First Division title with Derby County in 1975.
  • 5.. The Rec, as it is affectionately known by fans, has been the home of both Aldershot Town and Aldershot FC since day one. Currently officially named the EBB Stadium for sponsorship reasons, it sits on the town high street and has a capacity of around 7,100.
  • The team are currently managed by Gary Waddock, who took over in May 2016. The former Queens Park Rangers and Millwall midfielder is enjoying his second spell in charge of The Shots after spending over two years in the hot seat between May 2007 and October 2009. It was under his stewardship that they achieved promotion to the Football League.
  • After putting on the Aldershot Town jersey 489 times, Jason Chewins holds the record number of appearances for the club. The left back enjoyed a 10-year career at The Shots between 1994 and 2004, leading to him becoming the sole recipient of a testimonial match.
  • Post reformation, the title of club record goal scorer belongs to Mark Butler. The life long Shots fan hit the target on 155 occasions between 1992 and 1998. He also took the meaning of local hero to the next level as he reported lived across the road from the ground.
  • Joel Grantโ€™s ยฃ130,000 move from Aldershot to Crewe Alexandra back in June 2008 made him the clubโ€™s record sale. Teams the now Plymouth Argyle player would go on to appear for includes Wycombe Wanderers, Yeovil Town and Exeter City, as well as being called up for the Jamaican national team.
  • The Halifax players will be wanting to leave Aldershot with better memories of it than The Beatles did in 1961. The Fab Four played a gig at the townโ€™s Palais Ballroom in what was supposed to be a battle of the bands between Liverpool and London based musicians. However, because of a gaff by those promoting the event, only 18 people shown up.
