FC Halifax Town will travel to South London this weekend to face high flying Sutton United. Billy Heath’s men will look to kick on from their goalless draw with Woking and get the three points they’ve been chasing for so long.

Current Form

Coincidentally Sutton’s last lost came nine games ago to Woking. Paul Doswell’s men are currently sitting 4th only losing 4 games so far into the league campaign. However, with only 4 wins in the last ten games The U’s are drawing too many games if they want to finish at the top of the National League.

Unfortunately, though for the Shaymen, their run of form hasn’t been as good.  With only two wins in the last 10, the last one coming at Bromley on the 23rd of September. Halifax will have to get a win soon to stop their slow decline down the table.

It’s goals which Halifax have struggled with, only scoring 4 goals in the last 7 games has hindered their chances of taking three points from any games.

On a positive note, at the MBi Shay Stadium in the most recent fixture Halifax looked a much more positive outfit with hull loanees, Daniel Batty and Josh Clackstone as well as new signing Harry Middleton making a massive difference.

Key Man

Sutton United will be a very difficult fixture for the Shaymen on Saturday, and key man Tommy Wright will make it a lot trickier for that Halifax defence.

The young striker has already bagged five goals this season and has played in 17 of his team’s league games so far.

At only 20 years of age Wright is a bundle of energy, he won the clubs player of the month in August bagging three of his league goals, after winning a place in the side during the pre-season friendlies.

Wright dropped down the divisions and scored around 50 goals for Salisbury last season. He’ll be looking to impress on Saturday once again and boost his goal tally for the season.
