Following FC Halifax Town’s 2-0 defeat to Maidstone United, manager Billy Heath touched upon the current injury situation at the club.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnson was unable to play due to a back spasm which occurred prior to the match and Heath said:

“We’ve been very unfortunate with players missing through suspension and injury and we lose Sam literally this morning. It was an innocuous, nothing to do with football injury, where he was just getting something out of the refrigerator and his back went into spasm.

“So that’s disappointing, but I think Tommy (Nicholson) equipped himself well enough, definitely well enough.”

Also, regarding suspensions Heath mentioned that Tom Denton is back in contention for the Shaymen’s next game which is a boost for the squad.

Nathan Hotte will miss the game due to suspension for five bookings this season.

Town’s next fixture will be away at Tranmere Rovers in the National League on Saturday October 25, kick off is 3pm.
