FC Halifax Town’s under 19’s thrashed Harrogate Town under 19’s 10-0 at St John Fisher’s School with winger Jos Veitch scoring six times for the Shaymen.

Veitch hit hat-tricks in both halves whilst Ellis Wade, El Anku, Jack Knight and Trent Coulter also scored in a dominant display by Mark Trueman’s side.

Halifax got off to the best possible start, taking the lead in the first minute of the game. Midfielder Wade turned the ball in after Harrogate failed to clear a cross by Keelan Swales from the left-hand side.

Ten minutes later, Town made it two as Veitch scored his first of the afternoon. The winger steered the ball in off the far post after turning away from Fin Darlill.

Anku continued his fine start to the season by scoring the third as the number nine collected Wade’s pass before firing the ball into the bottom left corner.

Prior to half-time, Veitch completed his hat-trick with two quick-fire goals. The wide man placed the ball into the unguarded goal after Jordan Kaban was caught out by Anku’s press before sealing his treble by heading in a Swales cross at the far post

Halifax took a 6-0 lead into half-time as Knight sent a stunning free-kick into the top corner from 20 yards out a minute before the break.

Midway through the second-half, another two goals within the space of three minutes saw Veitch take his afternoon tally to five. Swales was again the provider as his dinked crossed was headed home by Veitch before the number seven tapped in from Kaban’s partial save.

15 minutes from full-time, Coulter added the ninth from the bench as his strike from the edge of the area deflected past Kaban.

In the final seconds, Veitch rounded off a perfect game with his sixth goal of the game and Town scored their tenth of the match.
