A return of the Tuesday night games in the National League and the Shaymen welcome the tough test of Maidstone United to the MBi Shay Stadium in what is to be their third home game in a row.
Halifax will be looking to dust themselves off following their disappointing 1-1 draw with Torquay at the weekend but can take confidence following the inspired performance from new loan signing George Waring.
On the other side, Maidstone will be hoping they can actually finish this fixture, as their game against AFC Fylde was abandoned in the second half due to poor weather conditions.
Maybe a blessing in the stars for Maidstone who found themselves trailing by 2 goals to 1 at the time the game was halted, after a frantic 15 minutes where all three goals were scored.
Maidstone have picked up some impressive away results this season however, most notably being the 4-1 thumping of Macclesfield back in September, with two goals from Zavon Hines, who is also the clubs current top scorer with 6 goals.
Matty Kosylo will be hoping he can overtake him if he puts in a good performance as he sits behind him on 5 goals. Tom Denton will have to wait one more game to see out the end of his suspension before he can get back to his mission of rising up the top scorers chart, as he also sits on 5 goals for this season.
Halifax have been performing well at the Shay this season, having not conceded defeat in their last 6 league games. A slight slip up against Tranmere in the FA Cup was the first loss at home for the Shaymen since August and the squad will be hoping they can keep this run going.
Maidstone currently sit in 13th position, just two places behind Town and a win could see them, not only overtake the Shaymen, but jump all the way to 7th place and into the playoff positions, assuming results are favourable for the away side.
Halifax and Maidstone’s record in the National League are pretty much identical, with only a point between them with Halifax having drawn one more game, however it should be noted that following the postponed game with Fylde, Maidstone have played one game less.
Both sides can boast that they have only lost one of their last five games, however Maidstone edge it, having picked up two wins and two draws compared to Town’s three draws and one win. On the other hand, though, Maidstone’s one loss came just two games ago, compared to Halifax who have not lost in four.
Halifax will be looking to build upon their performance against Torquay where they dominated large portions of the game but will be hoping they can be more clinical and take their chances and will be hoping Waring can carry on where he left off in his debut and hit a goal scoring run of form while he is at the Shay.
