Bromley: Supporters Club Notes

Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. I hope a fair few away fans join us today from Bromley, formerly a town in Kent, but officially the largest London Borough since 1965. People who know me are aware that I will never accept the 1974 geographical changes made to the Yorkshire Ridings, and I would be interested to know whether the Bromley fans still regard themselves as Kentish Maids and Men.

Returning to the present era, I will today attempt to explain the second initiative administered by the Supporters Club (jointly with the Shaymen Down South). This is the “Goal-o-meter” programme page, which in simple terms is intended to give fans the opportunity to sponsor various items relating to FC Halifax Town statistics this season.

Sponsoring goals scored is the main suggestion, either by the team as a whole or by a specified player. Participants have also chosen to sponsor hat-tricks, penalty saves, and player appearances.

Why stop there, though? Get those little grey cells working, and let’s see who can come up with the most imaginative item or aspect to sponsor. You could maybe sponsor David Bosomworth for every time he arrives at the ground in anything but a BMW, or even Matt Kosylo for each headed goal he scores.

All funds raised will go towards the significant First Team travel costs this season. To join the Goal-o-meter, please contact any Supporters Club Committee member, or e-mail your request to roger_bottomley@hotmail.com. Full terms, conditions and contact details can be found on the relevant page in this programme.

Don’t forget our forthcoming Football Quiz night at the Flying Dutchman, Boothtown and the Trip to the Dogs at Belle Vue. I’ll remind you of the details in the Wrexham programme notes a week on Tuesday.

See you soon,     Kit.
